Apart from being one of the smallest countries in the world, Singapore is also one of the most densely populated countries in the world. In fact, it comes just next to Monaco in terms of density in the entire world with 643 people residing in its every square kilometer.
The world’s first night zoo
Singapore is famous for having the world’s first night zoo which was built in 1994. The zoo has more than 1000 animals of nearly 120 different species.
Funny as it may sound; a BBC study found out that people in Singapore are the fastest walkers in the world. They cover an area of 0.02 kilometers (60 feet) in just 10.55 seconds. Now, that’s literally living life in the fast lane.
There is a reason why Singapore is so well maintained and sparkling clean. The authorities charge heavy fines for any act of littering and spreading dirt. Fines for littering range to several hundreds of dollars.
Chewing gum and its import is not allowed in Singapore unless it is for therapeutic value. (And you will need a medical prescription for that.)
